9/9/2014 - 9/12/2014

Tuesday
Today was a quiet day around here as we continued with the triple digit heat. I did finish setting up the water and sewer lines and continued to watch my front windshield cover flap in the breeze. I have ordered to tarp holders and bungee cords to put an end to this problem...at lest that's my hope.

Wednesday
Another quiet day as the heat is enough to limit outside activity. Humidity has been around 60 to 70% with daytime highs in triple digits. Not the kind of weather you want to go out and play in.

Thursday
Rain is in the forecast for tomorrow so some relief is on the way, at least we can hope.

Friday
Lesson learned, don't visit the dermatologist when his mortgage is due. Today the Doctor was able to identify four areas of interest which he felt needed his blade. Another lesson, don't go to a knife fight unarmed. I now have four wounds, two on my right arm, one on my chest just below my neck and one on my nose. Results will be in in 12 days until then just work on healing was the instruction.

The rain has begun, it started just afternoon and has rained on and off since then. At time it rained so hard this evening that I couldn't get a satellite picture to watch the game. They managed to win without my help though, so it was okay.

Saturday
It continues to rain and as of this morning we've received 4.25 inches of  the liquid stuff. This is good news for the Valley which has been going through a drought the last couple of years. With a break in the afternoon which allowed me to watch the Cardinals to win, the rain picked up again in the evening and the total for the last 36 hours has been 7.05 inches. It is officially wet. It looks like a pretty solid end to the drought as the lakes and ponds fill. They tell us there is more on the way in the next week.

  1. You can't have any of that rain, it must be returned to Oregon where it belongs. We will be happy to send this hot Texas weather to you in exchange.

    1. This time we're being selfish and keeping what we get, I might want a drink later on.

  3. I always thought you were a cut up, but I was wrong, it was your dermatologist. Good thing you got those spots taken care of, you can't be too careful with them.

When I saw your new header picture, I thought you had slipped over to the Middle East and visited some Crusader forts there. :cO

    1. Nope, that's what I saw in New Mexico a couple of weeks ago. Oh, and I'm still a cut up, just not as much of me to cut up now.

  4. You and Jim can compare missing parts. Seems like every time he visits his dermatologist he comes home with pieces gone. Glad you guys are finally getting some rain. Just hope it doesn't flood everywhere. Time for those triple digits to disappear for a few months.

The rain is most certainly welcome and more on the way we hope.

    1. Actually there were a few closures for flooded roadways because it was coming down so fast, but it was quickly absorbed. all is well today.

  6. Love the header.
Hope your results are good and yes you beat me in the band aid race. I am happy to lose. My hole in my temple is just about healed and no longer looks like I was shot.

I think you went back to TX to early. Good for rain but not the heat and humidity.

    1. You and I both need to let the doctors know we need that like we need another hole in our heads.
More rain today, but it has cooled off.

  7. Wow...that is a LOT of rain! Wish we had gotten even half that amount. We only got a little over an inch but I'll take it.
