Saturday
I left Del Rio in overcast skies with a light drizzle falling from time to time. This really worked to my advantage as I drove to the east as I didn't have to contend with the rising sun as I drove eastward. 351 miles later the trip was completed and I arrived at Vals Kountry Corral my new winter home. Thanks to Wally, who with his wife Star, run the place, my car started right up and was ready to go. I arrived in time to see the Cards win and a couple of football games. All my teams won so it was a doubly good day.
Sunday
Resting today in the weekend mode I got to see the Cardinals win another one in the afternoon and then the Bronco's win in the evening, another good day. I also had time to calculate my summer mileage and with the trip to Hannibal I traveled 5355 miles this summer. More importantly were the things I was able to see and do. From train rides to Indian village ruins and history with a plus of touching base with several friends along the way. Another good summer.
Monday
A trip to the office this morning to sign my lease and leave a pot full of money for a years rent. The next order of business was to head for the car spa to have the topsoil removed from the Fiesta before the crop matured. This was followed by a stop at the dermatologist office to reschedule my appointment from mid October to this coming Friday. All this done it was time to stop by burger doodle for lunch. I then headed back to Mel to get myself out of the 99 degree heat and wait for the Cardinal game.
The Cardinals have moved to Cincinnati and game 1 was a win. we are currently 4.5 games ahead of the second place Pirates.
Welcome home. It was good reading and seeing your adventures.
ReplyDeleteStill working on getting settled in, but looking good.
DeleteI hope Val's stays a good place. You have worn out two parks down that way you know-4 seasons and J5. I really liked Val's and its location was also very nice.
DeleteDon't forget Falfurias and Countryside and Riviera SeaWind, good that I have wheels.
DeleteYou sure did put on the miles this summer but got to experience some wonderful parts of this country.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your new home. It has to be better than what you left.
Thank you. I think this park will be a good fit.
DeleteThose miles sure gave you lots to see over the summer. Now to settle in. And you have your car so you can give Mel a good rest. Enjoy your new RV Park
ReplyDeleteMel is in the resting mode and with the car I'm thinking about some three day trips out of here.
DeleteGlad you made it back home safely.
ReplyDeleteI past through you village the other day in my journey.
