Well the bank transfer is complete. Yesterday my Social Security check was deposited in Ally bank so today I was able to transfer everything out of my old BoA account and close the account and the debit card and the associated credit card. The change wasn't nearly as hard as I though it would be., as a matter of fact it went rather well.
Today the absentee owner of the park showed up on his a couple of times annually inspection trip. This time he brought some news that I'm sure everyone will welcome, a rate increase. Quite an increase it is too. Annual RV rate is going from $1417 to $1896. Now with my move to a new park next year I'll be saving even more money.
The park owners (two brothers) were back today and they were being followed around by a couple of people that led to speculation that the park is up for sale and these might be a couple of prospective buyers. We'll see what develops.
The heat came on this morning with an overnight low of 50 degrees, but we did make it to 90 for a high.
The scanner was busy this morning as a coyote with about 20 illegals on board decided to run from the border patrol. The ironic twist was the coyote rolled his vehicle on Coyote Drive in La Joya. Mass casualties and one fatality reported. So sad.
Ups brought Mel's new wheel covers this afternoon, so Mel will be stepping proud when he pulls out in July.
The highlight today was meeting the new owners of the J-5 Park. George and his son Moses have taken over the park and change is underway. Super nice people from Maryland. The father has 30+ years in the park industry and with his son it looks like things might be changing for the better. The father, son and their wives and a grandchild visited the park this morning and I was able to spend about an hour with them. When we went our separate ways I left with a very positive impression. They have already had someone in getting estimates on sealing the roads in the park. I will update with progress reports as changes occur.
The other good news today was that the Cardinals won their fourth game in a row.
