Week of 12/1/2013

This week has been very slow for me. I did see the arrival of several neighbors and the park is slowly filling up. The weather has been very pleasant, that is until Saturday when somebody opened the door to the refrigerator. We dropped from the mid 80's which we enjoyed all week to a high of 50 degrees on Friday. Overcast and windy to complete the dismal picture.

On the sports front Denver beat arch rival Kansas City on Sunday and Indiana got hammered by Syracuse in basketball on Tuesday.

Also this week saw the arrival of a new kitchen appliance. I'm not sure how this will work with TV dinners, I might have to expand my culinary skills.

I also decided if I was going to eat better I should share the joy of good food, so I set up the hummingbird feeder and added a window seed box for some of my feathered friends. No takers yet, but I'm sure it will be popular once discovered.

Saturday it was time to remember Pearl Harbor.

The day ended up being a good day, bad day, good day. It started with the Missouri Tiger basketball team beating UCLA, it was followed by the Missouri Tigers losing to Auburn in in the SEC football championship and that was followed by Indiana's basketball team winning. Thus, up, down, up.

Temperature wise we never got out of the 40's which is more than uncomfortable for us thin blooded life forms. One more day and then back into the 70's, at least that's the promise.

  1. I'm really tired of the cold, too. I really haven't done much at all this week. I hate to even take the girls out when it's so cold - but since Jim does most of that I'm okay. lol

  2. Maybe you could empty the contents of the frozen dinner directly onto the appliance....or maybe not!! We sure would appreciate you sharing some of that 70 degree weather.

  3. That's all you set up for the birds? I'd have thought you'd whip up something for them on that fancy new grill! :c)

  4. Nice grill. Can't wait to see what you whip up on there. Nice window bird feeder. This cold weather seems like it is going to stick around here for a while. I am not thrilled with it either.

    1. I think I'll start with hot dogs and work up from there.
I think the birds will like me once they find it.
I just don't do cold anymore, hate it.

  5. Sorry this is so late. I have non internet here in Ohio. Paul will bring the Mifi when he gets here next week.

Boy was this weekend a bummer for us...Michigan State cleaned our clocks. We did get the bid for the Orange bowl though. We need to redeem ourselves.

Enjoy your week. Hope it is much warmer. It is freezing here!

    1. I know what you mean. Missouri didn't fare very well either.
Weather has been a bummer here too. Overcast and gloomy with temps in the 40's and 50's. Not why I come to the tip of Texas.

  6. We really like the versatility of the cuisinart griddler. We are Chiefs fans so not happy with that result.

    1. So far so good with the griddler. A couple of steaks and some french toast so far.
I cab feel the Chiefs pain, but as a Bronco fan not so much.

  7. Hey John, I would be happy with 40 degrees right now. Can't head to Texas this year and it was 4 below here in Wisconsin this morning. Ordered some insulated longies from Kmart
    Happy Motoring
