Week of 12-8-2013

Sunday
Below average temperatures and cloudy skies start our week. There isn't a lot going on when this happens. At least the Bronco's won their game this afternoon.

Monday
Still no break in the weather, but along with the low temperatures we've picked up some drizzle and wind. Another indoor day.
Another package from Amazon brought a new replacement grill for Mel.
Time for some steaks on the barby.

Tuesday
Cabin fever has begun to set in. Still no sign of the sun which would improve things a lot. I am needing to buy propane today. I just bought some last week, but in this weather it is going quickly.

Today's lesson is how to speed delivery of a package from Amazon. Cancel the order. I noticed a low tire on PaT today and decided a small 12 volt compressor would be good to carry in the car rather than dig out Mel's big compressor. I ordered one, but while still searching I found one I liked better. Within 15 minutes I cancelled the original order and received an email that the order was in shipping and couldn't be cancelled. Within another 15 minutes I received another email stating it was out the door and would be delivered Wednesday. One day delivery on a cancelled shipment...pretty good service.

Wednesday
Cabin fever has reached the acute stage as we suffer through another sunless day. High temperature was 54 degrees and we are living in the clouds with mist off and on all day.
The good news today was the package from Amazon was intercepted before it was signed for and is on its way back to Amazon.

Thursday
today was a bad day at 'black rock', only because the Bronco's lost to San Diego at home. The weather still isn't cooperating and no sun to be found.

Friday
This was laundry day and I got that out of the way early. Clean sheets tonight.

This afternoon UPS brought my new air pump and PaT's back in running order. The pump works great and filled the tire from flat to 35 psi in about 4 minutes.

We did make it to 73 today, but still no sun. Maybe tomorrow.

Late this afternoon we saw the departure of another park model as Don and Jackie pulled their unit out for greener pastures. Nice folks that will be missed.

Saturday
We briefly saw the sun this morning, but it quickly disappeared and we are totally overcast again. At least the temperature has reached the 70 degree mark, but it would sure be nice to see some sun.

  2. We're up in Houston and suffering the same miserable weather. Actually, Marsha flew to Ohio for the Holidays and is enjoying COLD and SNOW ......YIKES!!!!!

This should have been the winter one spent in Florida. That's about the only warm spot in the Nation. Hopefully, we'll make up for this crappy stuff in January & February.

    Enjoy the Valley

    1. I understand you're joining her soon to get your snow fix too. You should be ready to appreciate warmer weather when you get to Arizona.

  3. Know exactly what you mean by the lack of sun with all the clouds and with only nine hours and six minutes of daylight on a sunny day that's not enough to help Enjoy the Good Life. Be Safe!

    It's about time.

    1. Having grown up in the Midwest where the sun leaves in November and comes back in April you would think I would be used to this, but I've grown to like sunshine.

  4. I wish the VA would take lessons from Amazon. I'm now in my 28th month of my disability claim with them and no end in sight. :c(

  5. Your doing a very good job keeping Amazon on there toes. And maybe prolonging the temp work force.

We are still on the chilly side but sun has been shining. I'll try to send some over your way
