A visit to the Wall.

Today I had to run to Wal-mart, but also took some time to visit Veterans Memorial Park in Truth or Consequences. The feature of the park is a half size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. This is one of a few that traveled around the country and found a permanent home here in 2003. Since that time a park dedicated to veterans and the Hamilton Military Museum has grown up around The Wall. Here is part of the tribute.

The US flag, the flags of every service and The Wall in the background.

Lady Liberty at the end of the park.

The Wall.

Murals on the Museum

The Guardian of the park.

A different type of guardian.

The Hamilton Military Museum. It was closed when I got there, so we have another trip for another day.

Now that today's energy has been used there is nothing left but to enjoy the good life.

  1. I love the saying on the Mural. Sorry the museum was closed. I would have liked to see some of what they offer inside. Enjoy your day of rest...hehe

  2. I spent some money (and energy) at Wal-Mart today also, and Costco - oh my!!

Nice that you at least got to visit The Wall. Stories of how Viet Nam era vets were treated can still move me to tears. Glad that has changed.

  3. I always have a hard time visiting those Veteran's Memorials, but I do it out of respect for all they've done. Have you been to The Wall in DC?

    1. Yes I have. I also have a couple of friends whose names appear on The Wall. It always moves me, too.

  4. Been to the DC wall several times, found my cousin's name. Hallowed ground. Hard to keep the eyes dry there.

Glad to see other memorials to our fallen military hero's have been constructed.

    1. This on here in Tor C is located next to the grounds of the New Mexico Veterans home which makes it doubly special.

    1. Now there are two reasons for you to do a road trip over here some day. The ghost town of Chloride and The Wall.
