Bad start

The home start for the Cardinals didn't come off as planned, but what do you expect on Friday the 13th? The first setback was rain in the area which postponed the start for two hours. Then because of the wet grounds the Clydesdale horses were scratched because of the wet grounds. Then the show got on the road with the Cardinal Hall of Famers riding around the outfield track and stopping at home plate. Next representative of the last 4 World champions brought out the respective years hardware and they were put on display. Next was the introductions of this years team members who followed the Hall of Famers and stopped at home plate where they shook hand with those who have gone before them. They then lined up along the first base line for the rest of the ceremony. Next was the raising of the World Championship banner. This honor was given to a soldiers family. He was at the 6th game of last years Series and had planned to attend opening day before he lost his life in Afghanistan. This moment brought the loudest round of applause, especially when they recognized all military personnel serving around the world. This was followed by the National Anthem and it was time to play ball. Attention Cardinals, it was time to play ball. Oops, they forgot and were soon down 9 to nothing and the day was pretty much over even though they did come back and score 5 runs, it just wasn't enough.

Today Revel the park RV repairman showed up to replace the skylight over the shower.

On the roof removing the old skylight.

Not much chance of repairing this one.

The marker lights were also installed . And things are getting back in shape.

After watching all this hard work I have given myself the afternoon off so I can concentrate on enjoying the good life.

  1. Ah yes, observation does tend to wear one out. It's really muggy here today. Blech.

    1. It sure was, even though there was a lower half of the skylight, I'm sure it would have leaked if we had rain.
