As a non-laborer I'm at a loss as to whether or not I'm entitled to celebrate this holiday. Then again being retired makes every day a holiday and I suppose to celebrate or not to celebrate will be of my choosing. I do want to give my thanks to all those of you who do work, pay taxes and contribute to my retirement. I really do appreciate your efforts.
There really isn't much on the agenda for today. Last night we did enjoy a half inch of rain here in the neighborhood that turned the the gravel into a lake bed (New Mexico doesn't absorb moisture very well) and it's clouding up early today so we might be in store for a bit more today. Mel's rain gauge has reached the 20 inch mark since I left here at the end of May and I'm still considering a second career as a rainmaker. I believe there is a black cloud following me in my travels but it's a good black cloud because we are ending droughts wherever we go.
This afternoon I have to assume the holiday mode. There is a ballgame to watch later today and then we will settle in, sit back and see what happens while enjoying the good life.
could you go to north TX. pretty please!!!
