After weeks of near 100 or better temperatures we have finally started to cool down a bit. The overnight low dropped to 64 degrees and right now our temperature is 79 degrees with a humidity of 39%. It's nice to have the windows open and the fans running to exchange some stale air for some fresh air.
Yesterday I finally gave up on the scanner and decided to return it to Amazon. I bought the scanner and then found you needed software to program the channels to be scanned in to it and I then that my serial cable wouldn't recognize the scanner so a special cable was needed to connect the scanner to the software and after all that was purchased I found that the software never would recognize the scanner. At this point I decided my brain had reached overload and a return was in order. I contacted Amazon and they were very good about setting up a return for the scanner, however the cable/software company was not as easy to get along with. They would only take their products back if they were unopened. That seems to be a major catch 22 in trying to determine that a product is not going to work while keeping it in its original packaging. Lesson learned and I won't be buying anything from Advanced Specialties Inc. in the future.
This afternoons task will be waiting for the UPS man to stop by and pick up the scanner for return. This will probably require my full attention so very little else, other than enjoying the good life, will be accomplished.
