Up and running

After 4 days of battle Mr. Acer is up and running and seems relatively stable. This might have something to do with the fact that I explained to him it was his last chance or else it was back to the warehouse for him.

Today the weather has taken a turn and not necessarily for the better. Rain arrived last not and it was more than the the normal one or two drop variety. I recorded a half inch on my rain gauge. It also dropped the temperature and right now it is 61 degrees. This is an indication that it will soon be time to point Mel south for a little warmer weather. This will probably happen in the next couple of days. Right now we are waiting for Dennis and Tammy to arrive. This will probably happen later today. After a visit with them it will be time to head out for Zapata and my friends down there.
The old church in Guerrero as it looked 3 years ago before the water came up again. The church is currently half submerged by Falcon Lake. For a look at that visit click here.

With all the concern over safety in Zapata I will play it by ear this year. There has been a lot of news recently about the couple who crossed into Mexico to get a picture of the church in old Guerrero which I visited a few years ago when the lake was lower. They became victims of the fifth pirate attack on the lake since I left there in the spring. This year there will be no trips into Mexico and with all the attention in the last few days I would expect an increased law enforcement presence in the area around the lake.

It looks like today with the weather the way it is and the threat of rain it will be a good day to do a thorough cleaning of Mel and then sit back and enjoy the good life.
