9/29/2014 - 10/4/2014

Sunday started off with the Cardinals wrapping up the Central Division Championship and now it's on to postseason play.

Monday was a do nothing day and I must report that it was done very well with extreme diligence.

Again this week Tuesday followed Monday and it became a mirror of Monday. I did watch a couple of ballgames, but that was about the extent of my exertion.

Wednesday was my MOHS surgery day and the 6 inch cut on my chest right below my throat is plenty painful. It seems like anytime I move my head I tug on the stitches. I guess I should stop moving my head. The good news is the cancer has been removed and I'm on the road to recovery. Stitches will come out in 12 days.

Thursday, the day after surgery and aspirin stock prices have jumped with my increased consumption of the product. Second day is always the worst and I'm counting on this being the case.

Friday caused it to be laundry day or as it's known around here 'your out of socks and underwear' day. I really like trying to get clothes dry when the humidity is 95% which is what it was this morning. I did eventually get the job done and retreated to Mel to bask in the air conditioning for the rest of the day.
The Cardinals did win their first playoff game in Los Angles so it's off to a good start.

Saturday brought a sports filled day. Two football teams I watch both won their games, but the Cardinals lost theirs. So it was a mixed day.
The recovery continues, but aspirin stock prices are still up.

  1. I'm catching up on blogs after not having reliable internet for ages..... So glad your surgery went well and hope your recovery is fast... and the pain subsides quickly. That sure seems like a big cut to me... just think of the stories you can tell about your scar ;-)

  2. Thanks for the stock investment advice ... I'll get right on it. Hang in there with the war on stitches. Maybe the doctor should have installed one of those white plastic rings around your neck like vets do with dogs to keep your head still (joke). That first game was amazing, who would have thought the National League Cy Young winner would be bombed for the loss. It's good you get regular checkups to catch that nasty stuff called cancer, many don't.

  6. Sure glad they got it all. I guess I'd rather have them make sure they get it all and suffer the pain. But I know it's not fun. At least on your chest you don't have the two black eyes like I did. I'm trying to find something positive to say to help you get through this. I've already invested in aspirin.

    1. You know, once they id you as a target you get this abuse regularly. I'v had eyes, nose, cheek arms and back, being held together with scar tissue.

  7. Hey John, sorry to hear about the surgery. I had a procedure to remove cancer on my nose. It was probably less painful than yours since my nose doesn't move much ;) Get well soon!
