Friday
Lunch today with Lisa and Ken Marks, they are the curators of the Hannibal History Museum and the Molly Brown Birthplace. The also run the Haunted Hannibal Tours and have published several books on Hannibal history, so I felt fortunate they were able to spend a little time with me.

I also changed my temporary residence today, moving over to my brothers house to disrupt their routine for a few days.

Saturday
A lazy day today until about 3:30 when a couple of my classmates arrived in Hannibal and I went over to Pat and Ann's motel room for a visit. Pat and I have been life long friends since kindergarten and Ann went to High School with us and later married Pat.

Then it was time to go to the school reunion. The last class graduated from McCooey High School in 1966 before and then high school closed so we have an all school reunion every year with a dwindling alumni population. All of my sisters and my brother showed up so we were able to get a picture with one of our former babysitters.

The lady in the center is a Hedges babysitter survivor and that makes her tough.

Some other pictures from the evening, some strangers hadn't been seen for 50+ years.

Sunday
Today was a driving day as I left Hannibal and began the trek back to Texas. I ended the day in Joplin 322 miles down the road.

Monday
Another driving day and I'm back in Texas, Palestine Texas to be exact. Somewhere around 450 miles for the day. Working hard to get upgraded on the PDD scale from silver to gold. Should arrive back in Mission tomorrow to whip Mel into shape for the summer travels. I most likely will wait until after the 4th to get on the road.

Tuesday
Another day of steady driving put me back home in Mission at a little after 4 pm. 1345 miles total since Sunday morning and I'm ready for a nap.

  1. How awesome to a have your sisters and brother at the reunion. It looks like a great turn out.

When our daughter, Kelly, moved to Texas several years back, her first teaching position was in Palestine. She lived in Tyler. She was the head softball coach their also. Really loved those kids.

What! no baseball updates? I won't even discuss the Indians. Ugly!

    1. I haven't even had time to watch a lot of baseball since we went to the game a week ago. Back in the grove today.

  2. I wonder if there was anyone there Terry might have known. I'm thinking he probably would have but wouldn't remember. He moved out of Hannibal when he was in the 8th grade.

    1. There very well could be. At that time there were two Catholic grade schools that fed into the high school.

    1. Amazing how the stories become enhanced over 52 years. I don't remember discipline problems, but then I don't remember a lot of things.

  6. Sounds like you had another great reunion and a good visit with family and other friends. But that sure was a lot of driving. I bet a nap was needed.
