Week of 1/19/2014

Sunday
It was Bronco day here and the Bronco's did well, beating the Pat's for the AFC championship. Now it's on to the Super Bowl in a couple of weeks.

Monday
Entertainment night at J-5 and we had Ron O'Neil, A Party of One. Ron is a former music teacher from Michigan and plays a variety of instruments providing a varied selection of music. A show that was enjoyed by all.

A couple of different saxophones

A nice night when you go to A Party of One.

Tuesday
A quiet day here in the park and I used the time to visit some of the surrounding parks to see what they had to offer. It is interesting to see how the other half lives.

Wednesday
The replacement Quadcopter arrived. This one shows the live picture on the monitor and is what I had in mind when I ordered the first one. Now the wind needs to die so I can see if it will do what I want it to do.

Thursday
Another windy day and it seemed to drive everyone into the laundry room. As usual for me it was a must do laundry day, another day would be an embarrassment to all.

Friday
What a difference a day can make. Yesterday afternoon here is was 81 degrees with sunshine. That is until the front blew in last night. This morning it is 34 degrees and the high is not expected to leave the 30's. A 50 degree swing in temperature in 24 hours is pretty hard to adjust to and wears out its welcome pretty quickly. My vote continues to be for 81 degree temps. High for the day was 41 degrees.

Saturday
The weather was a bit better today. We started off at 35 degrees but we did manage to briefly edge up to 69 degrees before the mercury  headed back south. Looks like another cold front will be visiting us on Tuesday.

A split of todays basketball games, one win, one loss.

And the weeks roll on.

  1. I need to check out that copter thingie. Did you see the drone that I talked about? They are so cool. We're having beautiful weather here - well it was cloudy yesterday but the sun is back today.

    1. This technology has really advanced and they are finding new uses for these little drones every day. Here in the Valley one of the Universities has a grant to test new technology associated with them.

  2. Glad you've finally got the aerial photo platform that you wanted. Now, if that wind would just ease off a bit more, you can get out and see how it works. Better practice your landings...you can probably do that inside, even. Maybe they would allow you to practice in the clubhouse, if you have enough liability insurance. LOL Looking forward to seeing how your pictures turn out, from way up there in the sky. You can gear up for watching the Super Bowl and keep hope alive for Payton Manning to be the first QB to win the Super Bowl on two different teams. My son Josh is rooting for the Broncos, as he has been a big fan of theirs for many years. He loved to watch John Elway play, and has enjoyed the team ever since. It should be a good game. The weather may get a lot colder there by then, and who knows what that might do for influencing the game. Some critics say that Manning doesn't play well when it's cold, but I've seen him play in the cold, and I think he does just fine. I also like Russell Wilson, since he's got a great first name!

    1. Once I get the copter working nobody's back yard will be safe.
My history with Denver is I lived there for eleven years during the Elway era. Two options in those days were be a Bronco fan or leave town.
I think next week will depend on which team shows up, You know what they say...on any given Sunday.

  3. This Tuesday is shaping up to be another weather bummer. Sure hope the ice stays north this time. :(

  4. Ron O'Neil sounds like a pretty talented guy.

Ice everywhere here this week. No school all around. These people have no idea how to drive in a drizzle that is for sure.

    1. Ron's a former music teacher and we all know how talented former teachers are.

  5. Now I can foresee all kind of panicked 911 calls reporting a UFO over the campground! :cO

  7. Please do not send that cold front this way. I thought the weather we had Friday was enough. So far it is great here and the camping is going well.

What are you turning into a sky peeping tom with this new camera? haha Better watch out someone doesn't report an UFO and shoot you down.

    1. I don't want the cold here either.
I'm looking forward to creating UFO reports.
