Week of 10/20/2013

Sunday - 10/20/2013
Another weekend and of course more sports. Disappointing evening as I watched the Broncos winning streak come to an end at the hands of the Colts. Guess we'll have to start a new one next week.

Monday - 10/21/2013
Not a lot happening today. We did get .2 inches of rain overnight and it has stayed cloudy most of the day. Today is a non-sport day so reading was the preferred activity.

Tuesday - 10/22/2013
Today was grocery day. A trip to Walmart brought several sacks of groceries home and on arrival I, as I usually do, began compiling a list of what I forgot. I also made a trip to Wendy's to test out one of the Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburgers that they have been raving about. It didn't take long for me to decide one is a lifetime supply.

Game one of the World Series and the Cardinals arrived in Boston without their bats and their glove on the wrong hands. I'm not sure they were ready to play in the Little League World Series. Bottom line, they got hammered.

Thursday - 10/24/201
Game two of the World Series and the Cards showed up and the Sox fell apart. Good hitting and timely hitting wins ball games and the series heads back to St. Louis tied one game apiece.

Friday - 10/25/2013
Today was laundry day and as most of you know a day I so look forward to. One of the dryers I was using failed to ignite and I now have its contents spread out on the bed waiting for mother nature and the air conditioning to finish the job.

Today I also joined the Escapees RV Club. Lots of benefits for the future.

No game today, so more computer time is in order.

Saturday - 10/26/2013
Today was a strange day in sports. All started well with a Notre Dame win, then Missouri was knocked from the list of unbeatens by a missed 28 yard field goal in the second overtime. The clincher was the Cardinal's winning in the bottom of the ninth on an interference call. Never been seen before by anyone including the announcers. I'm all worn out. Back at it tomorrow.

  1. We, too, want to try that Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburgers but maybe after your review...not so much!

We have been Escapees members since we started to travel. I can telly you that they have an excellent mail service.

I, too, have never seen a game end on an interference call. This will be the sports newsheadline today.

    1. Don't let me influence you trying the Pretzel Burger, it might just be me.
I probably won't use the mail service, but some of the other perks look good.
I wonder what todays game will bring.

  3. You're right about the cheeseburger not much different than the one on a regular bun.
Even Canadians see benefits of joining the SKP's number 106 709.
    Keep Enjoying the Good Life.

    It's about time.

    1. I like my burger simple. Way too much to deal with on the pretzel burger.

  4. You have had a busy week. All the sports make me tired. Not as tired as all the shopping.
I know lots of RVers who have members. I'm going to look into that now that I will travel more.

  5. Jim tried that pretzel burger and he said once was enough for him also. We are Escapees #94,140. Great club.

  6. From what I'm gathering Escapees don't like the pretzel burgers. I always thought, like Mark Twain, that I wouldn't want to belong to a club that would have me as a member. Escapees might be the exception.

  7. Escapees is a good club but we really never used any of their services except stay at a few of the parks.

  8. Their mail service is great and don't forget the C.A.R.E. campground in Livingston. I am also an SKP.

  9. I made homemade burgers on Saturday while we watched the Ducks play. Better than Wendy's haha!! I prefer my pretzels as a side dish...

  10. Number 56234 has only stayed at three Escapees parks in his traveling life. All three were decent in my opinion. Mostly I just use the mail service and the discount auto insurance.

  11. I want to try one of Sonic's pretzel hot dogs. Those buns just don't seem right for a hamburger. I think you may have confirmed that.
