Off and running

This morning we will be leaving Williams and heading east, hopefully to find some warmer temperatures. Right now it's 58 degrees and raining, not to my liking. Yesterdays trip to the Grand Canyon was a fun day spent with my four sisters and their husbands and it didn't end until about midnight. Here's some of the highlights.

It was hazy and overcast all day, not a good picture taking day, but that is the Colorado river at the bottom of the 1 mile deep canyon.

Another look from a different perspective.

Some of my sisters talking and occasionally looking at the canyon.

On the way back on the train we were robbed.

And we fininshed the day at the Cruisin' 66 Cafe.

More chatting than picture taking was done, but it was sure good to see my family. Today I start the journey towards Elephant Butte. No big hurry, but I should be there by mid-week.  On the way I'll be enjoying the good life.

    1. Seeing the sisters and their husbands was what this trip was all about. They are off in other directions today.

  3. We got robbed on the GC railroad, too. A little later looking out the window we saw the robbers passing us in their car. I guess any way you can get gas money in AZ is worth the trouble... :cD

    1. Our robbers rode all the way to the end of the line and got off with the rest of the passengers, the sheriff was walking with them too. Just not the way it should be.

  5. The robbers seem to mix the getting away theme. They rode off when they robbed us. It was a fun ride on the train kept everyone entertained the entire way there and back.

    Glad you enjoyed your family.

    1. One of the bad guys didn't board, he took all the horses and was waiting in the parking lot when we got back to Williams.
A visit with my sisters and their husbands is always a good time.

  6. Glad we went when we did. We drove up and around the south rim and it was very foggy. We then drove all the way to the north rim through continuous rain and saw even less. It was completely fogged in. Hoping for better weather tomorrow as we visit Zion and Bryce. It was great seeing you and we are already looking forward to our next encounter.

    1. Amazing guys, die at the shootout in the morning and hold up the train in the afternoon and die on the street that evening.
