Had to check it out.

The other day I saw the Denny's retro diner and I couldn't leave town without checking the inside out. So off I went this morning to take a mile walk to have breakfast. I will tell you the inside is just as retro as the outside. Pressed tin ceilings lots of neon, the usual compliment of Coke signs. Just a short trip back to the 50's. The ambiance was great, the service was good and the food was.... well it was a Denny's.

Another afternoon ball game and then it will be time to stow things in preparation for hitting the road in the morning. Next destination ???, but we will be enjoying the good life.

  1. "Next destination ???" boy do I understand that. I want to be in Decatur Alabama by July 22 and between now and them is a total unknown. Rolling tomorrow to somewhere. Sounds like the title to a new song. Be safe.

    1. On the road again. If I announce a destination it might be crowded when I get there.

  3. There's just something about retro diners. Love 'em. Maybe because I have such good memories of the 50s.

  4. There is a Denny's Diner like that on W. Valencia near I-19 in Tucson, AZ. I stopped there because it was also the first Diner that I had ever seen with a Denny's sign on it. As you say a step back to the '50s but the food is still Denny's although I have to say they have improved in the past few years.

  5. Wish Denny's would pay a little more attention to their food quality and less on their décor. :c(
