Kingman Day 2

Day 2 in Kingman has started out slowly. I did a little routine maintenance, emptied the holding tanks and the like and I'm now sitting here wondering how long it will be before I kick on the air conditioner.  Today will be mostly a recovery day from yesterday walk in the heat, but I still do have the pictures from the three museums I visited yesterday to share. The first Museum was in the old railroad station which is fitting as Kingman grew up around the railroad.

About the station.

And the station.

On display 3 separate model train layouts in three different gauges.

This is an N gauge layout, very small trains.

Another view of the N gauge.

This one is a recreation of the station and Route 66 in Kingman.

Lots of rolling stock.

Memorabilia around the walls.

Tomorrow I'll show you the Powerhouse Museum and the Route 66 Museum. For the rest of today It's relax and visit day all the while enjoying the good life.

  1. Paul would love this Museum. We used to have (I think) a G gauge train in my flower garden. People would stop just to watch the train. It was a hoot.

  2. What a fun trip! I love model railroads, Bob just loves trains!

For a while there was a model train layout in Wonderland Mall in San Antonio. I don't know if it's still there, but we checked it out last year.

Welcome to my blog, by the way. I saw you joined in.

  3. The rain in Eugene falls on the just and the unjust. Come on up, John. It's raining today, and supposed to do the same for the next few days.

  4. Thank goodness for digital cameras. If you were still using the old film cameras, you'd have had to mortgage Mel to afford the film and developing costs for all the pix you took. :cO

  5. That museum was closed when I was there. I will be making another trip that way soon. I want to go to Oatman first.
will keep my eye on the heat before I go. Can't wait to see those trains.

    1. Wasn't too bad today, about 90 and I'm sure Oatman would be several degrees cooler. I hope it doesn't get any hotter before I leave on Monday.
