Yesterday a key decision was made when I decided to park the laptop with Windows 8 on it until my desktop with Windows 7 on it goes to the computer happy hunting ground. The problem that developed was that Windows 8 was making changes to mail and other programs that Win 7 didn't like. Throw into the mix that Bill Gates doesn't go overboard to accommodate Chrome and I-Google and the conflicts continued to mount. The last straw was when 7 wouldn't allow me to access my email contacts in Live Mail. At that point I began to rebuild Windows 7 to what I was comfortable with with a few changes. My new home page is ighome which replaces iGoogle as my home page. iGoogle is disappearing in November any way, so it just made sense to go on and set a new home page. Now all I have to do is populate the home page with applications the make my life easier. I have also deleted Windows Live Mail and will be using Google mail exclusively in the future. Being a Libra requires balance and this didn't seem achievable running both Windows 7 and 8. At least not what I was comfortable with.
Todays plans are geared to the weekend mode. We have already visited the rec hall and Ed has dropped by for a visit. I also took care of my Sanitary Engineer duties so the rest of the day is cleared to do what ever I turn up. I think I will manage to enjoy the good life, especially now the Windows 8 has been shelved.
