Day one adventure II

As Yogi Berra said, it's deja vu all over again. I'm in Sanderson Texas and it seems like I was just here 10 days ago, but that's only because I was. I arrived in Del Rio about 4 pm and put Mel is the shop at Walmart for an oil change only to find out whoever changed the oil last time cross threaded the drain plug when they put it back on. Now I will have to find a mechanic to deal with that problem. To add insult to injury while pulling out of the bay with the sun in my mirrors I caught the rear cap of the bedroom slide awning and now the awning wants to launch itself as we go down the road. I'm hoping I will be able to find someone in the morning to help secure it until I can get to an RV shop for repairs.

Don't you think day 2 has got to be better or is this going to be the pattern for the summer? If it is, it's going to be hard to enjoy the good life.

  3. I've about decided that if a trip starts out without problems something really seriously wrong is going to happen. Every time we try to leave - something doesn't work. So I know it's going to improve for you from here on out. Think positive.

  4. That is one of the reasons I got rid of my awning that day in Elephant Butte. I have missed it several times since and it was wonderful it was gone. Where do you spend the night in Sanderson? Be safe.

  6. Day two will definitely be better. It must mean you are going to have a wonderful time the rest of the summer as all the bad things are happening early. Best wishes.

  7. Oh no, I hope you can keep that awning contained! Sorry, I know that has to be a big worry. And the oil thing, that sucks too. Now make tomorrow a better day, ok?
