Errand day

Today is run around day. First it will be a trip to the Post Office to mail a return to Amazon of the USB TV Tuner that was going to turn the new laptop into a TV. The problem, as I found out later, is Microsoft Windows 8 no longer supports TV. So back goes the USB Tuner.

Stop two will be at Wally World to pick up the renewal of one of my prescriptions and to pick up a smart stick to download the recovery information for my new laptop. A few groceries will probably be collected too.

By the way, those pesky boys from Ohio beat my Hoosiers last night so I have to congratulate the Weavers. Maybe we'll meet again in the Big 10 Tournament.

Once that running is completed there is no other activity on the agenda other that the recovery download and sitting back to enjoy the good life.

  1. It was a well-played game by both teams. We love to see good games like that. If we would have lost, I would say we played our hardest. ID is a team to be reckoned with! The tournament is going to be very good this year. I think the NCAA tourney is going to be super. Difficult to pick the top 4.

    1. Most any team in the Big 10 can win on any given night. You're right should be an interesting tournament.

  2. As Marsha said, the NCAA tournament should be interesting this year. May be the year of many upsets!

    1. Don't forget the Big 10 tournament, there should be some real good basketball there too.

  3. I don't much about your Hoosiers but I do know a lot about ordering from Amazon and visiting Wal-mart. Does that count?

  4. After all that running around you will need to sit back and relax.

  5. Sounds like a good day for errands. Amazing how technology changes so fast and things won't support other things. I remember in the 90's I had a video card that I could plug into the back open slot on the big box puters called Avermedia TV98, and I could hook my VHS tape video camera to it. Then as the homemade movie played back on my computer screen, I could click click click a button on the computer screen. While segments played, I could make "still shots" captures of the film! It was my very first DIGITAL PICTURES before I had a digital camera. LOL My how things have changed.

    1. You are so right Karen, I got into computers with a VIC 20 and it's amazing what's been developed since the 70's.

  6. (oops first post had a typo)

Yup.. I had the old Atari computer... that you hooked to the TV in about 1985 or so? Then on up to an IBM that was like AMAZING! LOL.... My oh my how we have grown.

The real estate office I worked for owned the first digital camera being used for our ads in Green Bay, WI papers. It was HUGE like a pair of binoculars. We could save ONE photo per floppy disc to courier over to the paper. So each address had it's own disk for that ad that day. We didn't even have the internet then to send the photos to the paper, had to have a guy come and pick up the discs each day. LOL LOL

    1. Karen, you're stirring up memories. My first hard drive, 50mb $1,000. Thought that was all I would ever need. Each advance seemed like the ultimate until the next one came along.

    2. Oh yes, remember the old commercials that were selling computers as "this is the last computer you will EVER need"! I'm not sure laptops were even out yet then? How things have changed...but the more I hear about Windows8, the less I'm liking it...

    3. I'm not thrilled with Win 8, it seems cumbersome to me with a big learning curve.
