What I learned

Watching the Gomer and Patsy show the other day was not only entertaining, but it was also informative and I would like to share a couple of things I learned the other day.

Q: What is forty feet long and has three teeth?
A: That's the funnel cake line at the Missouri State Fair.

Q: Why do we know the tooth brush was invented in Arkansas?
A: If it had been invented any place else it would have been the teeth brush.

Now you are as informed as I am.

Today we continue in the weekend mode. Last nights feature basketball game went to 5 overtimes before Notre Dame finally prevailed. Fans had already left the building to beat the traffic when one player for Notre Dame got red hot and scored 12 points in the last 47 seconds to bring about a tie in regulation. This was really an edge of the seat sort of game.

Today the Hoosiers are on TV at noon playing Ohio State. I don't think I can convince the Weavers to join me in rooting for the Hoosiers, being from Ohio they seem to favor the Buckeyes. Following certain ball teams is just another way to enjoy the good life.

  1. That's a lot to learn and retain in one day. I guess the folks in Missouri don't use any kind of brush on their teeth. :)

  4. In Arkansas we tell it that the toothbrush was invented in Oklahoma because if it was invented in Arkansas it would be a teethbrush.

    1. Born in Texas, raised in Hannibal, with homes in D.C., Virginia, Illinois, Iowa and Colorado,, before returning to Missouri to retire. It's still harder to hit a moving target.

    1. They forgot that it's not over until the fat lady sings. They missed the outcome of Notre Dame's longest game in history.
