Golf Cart Rodeo.

The second event Sunday was the infamous 'Golf Cart Rodeo' a prelude to the NASCAR season.

Dandy, the clown, sees that everything is run in smart order. The course was a simple figure 8 with a gate at the halfway mark. The course is run with the driver blindfolded and the navigator frantically waving directions with their hands. At the gate the roles are reversed.

A contestant decides to visit with the crowd.

Approaching the gate as the 'official' official, Jackie, monitors the action. Each white cup spilled is a 10 second penalty and a red cup is a 20 second penalty.

Headwear can make a difference.

Some folks managed to get far astray. Note the use of hand signals to correct the error.

And  to be gently guided back to the track.

As you can see there was no lack of fun at this event, but that's the story at J-5. Fun all the time.

Last night we had a really good concert and I'll report the details tomorrow. The rest of today will be spent with a trip to Wal-mart to renew the meds and the IU game this evening. We just continue at full speed enjoying the good life.

  1. That's too funny. I would be the one using my hands and arms to give the directions. Jim would probably do better by himself. lol

  2. I wish they had mics on those carts. I am sure there were some choice words going along with those hand signals.

    1. It gets sort of interesting as the navigator waves hand signals that are ignored by the blindfolded driver and the frustration grows.

  3. I bet a few competitors would have done better if both members were blindfolded...

    1. The funny part is the more the hand signals are ignored the more frantic they become.
