A spa visit

In the past when my cars have become dirty I either washed them myself or took them to a car wash. those was the only options I knew, until yesterday that is. PaT the PT Cruiser had accumulated some road oil on the trip to Zapata the other day so I decided to find a car wash. What I found instead was a CAR SPA. Now, for those who were unaware of this option let me explain, Upon arrival an attendant takes your car off to never-never land while you go into this over-sized waiting area. In this case it was appointed like a large living room with  couches and chairs. While waiting you had your choice of 5 TV's to watch or you could walk down the hall past the barber/beauty shop and the shoeshine chairs and on past the small boutique and jewelry cases to the snack bar, ice cream parlor. After about 30 minutes your car returns from never-never land, having been thoroughly washed. Then an attendant takes over who proceeds to clean the inside of the vehicle, the floor mats get special attention, the dash is cleaned, all the door sills are cleaned and the windows are cleaned. Then they go back to the outside where they dress down the outside with a light buffing. After about an hour your vehicle is returned to you. This detailed spa treatment was $24.95 and I know for a fact they did a better job than I would have done. This morning PaT is sitting proud in the sunshine.

Indiana won their game last night and will play again Saturday. Until then we will just have to be content enjoying the good life.

  1. Don't forget the hot oil treatment, and the mud and hot rock massage (oh, that's right, you already did that before you took her to the spa.)

  3. And, I thought you had decided to go to the spa because there was no longer any entertainment at your park. Silly me!

  4. Wonder if I could get that kind of a spa treatment for $24.95? A light buffing on the outside might remove some wrinkles.

    1. I'm afraid if it worked that way appointments would be hard to get.

  5. I took mine for that treatment once. I was in a hurry to get somewhere after they had finished so I really didn't look around much. They usually do a crummy job there anyway.
But when I got home and went to put things in the back there were leaves and pine needles all over the carpet. I could barely see out the windows and the dash had never been wiped down and the garbage was still hanging there full of garbage. Got a redue and my money back to boot.

    1. I would think a job like that should get a refund and redo. At least they made it right.
