Winter continues

We just hit 50 degrees and the rain has finally stopped. No sign of the sun and the rain amounted to four tenths of an inch and might not be over. Today's activity is waiting for the propane man. I haven't filled since March and I still have a quarter of a tank left, but why take a chance with the way the temperatures have been. Nothing in the forecast looks promising until the first of the week and by then I'm sure there will be a good dose of cabin fever taking place. This, in my sixth winter in the valley, is the worst stretch of cold I have seen and with the cloud cover it's also the dreariest.

Today I'm searching the Amazon move database to find something to occupy my time. This coupled with watching new arrivals fill the available space will allow me to enjoy the good life through my window.

  1. Good call on the propane fill. Now you can count on warm weather returning. If you hadn't filled your tank...well you know what would have happened!

  2. This is our third year, and we don't remember it being this cold. But the locals told me that from Dec. 25-Jan.8 they always have cold weather, and then it goes back into the 80s. I just don't remember this part of our stay being as cold. It may be 50 but feels like 40.

    1. I'm with you, I think they are just trying to make us feel better.

  3. Hope your propane guy is more reliable than mine. Stay warm!

  4. P.S. Just had a chance to catch up on your blog and wanted to let you know that I loved your chair and its features.

BTW did you act surprised when you unpacked it? :D

  5. Yup, sounds like a good day to stay inside. Don't forget to tune in and watch the Oregon Ducks play in the Fiesta Bowl this afternoon (on at 5:30 here on ESPN). I'll be back from my dental appointment in time to watch the game. Keep those temps up high enough to avoid snow, and you'll be o.k. I'll bet you a bag of Tostitos that the Ducks win their game!

    1. I'll be watching, however I know better than bet against Oregon and their dedicated fans. Hope you are rewarded. Besides it would be pretty hard to get someone from Missouri to root for K State.

    1. My singing would do nothing more than shatter windows and irritate the neighbors.

  7. I'm not happy with this weather, either. I want to be sitting outside, enjoying sunshine.

  10. I have always been amazed living here in MO that it can get so hot in summer and be so damn cold in winter.
