A day at the races

Yesterday was race day at J-5. This is not a NASCAR sanctioned event, but it's a pretty good time for all involved. These races are being run every month and each course is different so no one gets an edge. Here is the course for yesterdays race.

From the start line it's up and over the teeter totter ramp.

Next a stop at the barrel to pick up two darts and two bean bags. Then throw the darts at the dart board (right behind the barrel).

A drive between the beanbag targets and then into reverse to back out.

Follow the curve around to this barrel where six golf balls are retrieved. Note the bumpy road ahead getting over the boards.

One golf ball for the top of each cone and one to be putted into to cup on the left.

After putting a right turn toward the bowling pins and the into reverse to back out to the end of the course.

Dandy the Clown kept things moving.

And the event was timed and scored by our official official, Jackie.

The crowd fought for track side seats.

And sometimes were involved in assisting wayward drivers.

The winners gather for the presentation of the trophies. The park managers, Jim and Sue took home first place with a time of 2 minutes and 35 seconds.

Just another fun thing we do here at J-5. Live entertainment on tap for tonight as we continue to figure out new ways to enjoy the good life.

  2. One of the contestants was having her birthday and she was sung to by the fans all the way round the course.

  3. How come there were no pictures of the high speed wrecks?

  4. They wouldn't let you enter your PT Cruiser, eh? Probably need a spoiler and some flames to qualify. Looks like a fun time, and in the sun to boot! Thanks for sharing.

    1. No cruisers allowed, just golf carts with governors installed to keep the speed in check. Don't want to get to crazy in a 55+ park.
