Day 5

And the overcast continues. There was just briefly a hint of sun early this morning, but the skies quickly closed and we are again in a deep overcast. I did hear from a friend in Missouri that it was sunny in NE Missouri so now we know where the sun has gone, but anyone who is familiar with the Midwest in the winter knows the sun disappears on November 1st and doesn't return until sometime in March. So that seems to be the problem, the Midwest has kidnapped our sun and according to my friend no one seems willing to give it up.

The weekend mode began last night with two basketball games and will continue today with three football games. At least that is something to occupy my time while enjoying the good life.

  1. If you watched College Game Day this morning, you would have seen what the weather is like here in Eugene. Raining, grey sky, forecast for more of the same. I thought we had found your sunshine yesterday, but I guess it was only an illusion. We should make a friendly wager on the games today. If the Fighting Irish win, you can send us something green (like all that money coming your way), and if the Ducks win, we can send you something yellow (like that sunshine you've been looking for).

    1. We'll have to go a few more days without sunshine before I would be willing to make that bet, but thanks for the offer.

    2. Those Fighting Irish really won big! Too bad we didn't get that bet laid on...I'd be looking for the green!

    3. Glad I was smart enough to hold onto the green. Now it's the Ducks turn.

  2. WE have had more sunny days than cloudy for the last couple of weeks although cool. This typical Dardenne Prairie MO. Weather. But the cold and snow isn't far down the road, we will pay for it later. Be safe out there Sam & Donna...

    1. Just turn loose of that sun and send it back to us where it belongs. Thanks.

  3. Even here in sunny AZ we've had clouds the last few days. The afternoons get better but it's really overcast and chilly in the mornings.
