Birthday time

It was 5 years ago today I went to Des Moines, Iowa and met Mel at the dealers to begin our journey. Since then we have covered 35,662 miles of the country and spent time 31 states. We have seen countless museums and delved into history. The amazing part of this journey is the people that we have encountered, both in person and through the blog. People we would have never met otherwise that are now considered friends. Places we would never have seen are now familiar stops. All of this and yet we have only seemed to scratch the surface. This country offers so much and as we head out for the second 5 years we can only thank all of you for being with us and say, "it sure has been great enjoying the good life."

  4. Congratulations on your 5 years of living the good life! You are an inspiration to many, and a fine example of someone who knows his baseball. AND...5 years without shoes might even be a record, who knows?

    1. Thanks Russ, but I'll assure 5 years is nowhere close to a record in my part of the country.
