Todays Journey

Today started with the usual meeting of the minds. Clay and I were joined by Loren, Charlie and Phyllis. After that in depth discussion I filled the water tank and proceeded to secure everything for travel. Then it was a visit to the office to settle the bill and say the farewells until spring. Next move was to the local fuel depot where a large chunk of change was deposited in the gas tank and then down the street to Wally World to further relieve the pressure on my right hip. This accomplished it was time to it the road for serious travel. This was interrupted about 70 miles down the road for a rest area stop for lunch and to watch the Cardinal game and the start of the Missouri game. The Cardinals won in extra innings and the Tigers were getting hammered by half time. So Mel went back into gear and we completed the 126 miles for the day at Carrizozo  for the night and in time for the Notre Dame game which starts at 6:30. Managed to cover everything for the day and Mel preformed well.

Football time the rest of the day and a good night sleep so we can make another 100 miles tomorrow. Note to friends suffering with PDD, this is how t's done while enjoying the good life.

  1. Wow, I think you might have just a touch of the PDD yourself (apologies to Paul)! We traveled a whopping 35 miles today. Oh well, anything under 150 is good I think. Hope you are enjoying your game. The Ducks start at 7:30 so we will be settled in watching that for sure.

  2. Interesting. It would never occur to me to gear the timeline of my travels to sports.

  3. I think we can take a lesson from you...travel an hour, watch sports 2 hours, travel an hour, watch sports 2 hours. I like the idea!

  4. NASCAR is the only thing we schedule our travel around. Thank goodness we have Sirius XM in the truck and it has a NASCAR station. You guys crack me up.

    1. I can be classified as a sports junkie, with the time I allowed to transit to Texas I'm in no rush.

  5. I have only one week to get to South Padre from here when I leave next month, so most of my days will be around 300 miles. This is not my preferred way of travel, but I don't want to miss out on the opportunity at the refuge and I am sure I will have other times to travel slower.

    1. Teri, you earned a pass by moving from one job to another. I hope you have a safe journey.

  6. Ohh, so that's how you are supposed to do it! I learn something new every day. And sports watching too. How cool is that?
