Another attack.

Since yesterday, I have resprayed the perimeter and I have Raid ant baits around Mel including in the pantry.   Last night I went to retrieve a cookie that I had stored in a Rubbermaid sealed container only to find the little critters had invaded the cookie cache, even though the lid was secure. Now I'm generally an easy going guy, but when you get after my cookie stash you have really yanked my chain. The cookies are now in the dumpster saturated in Raid and what is really the topper, the ants had to pass by a Raid ant bait to get to the cookies. After this encounter I got on the internet and found Amazon carries Terro and a supply will be here Friday. It's a good thing I placed the order, because today's trip to Wal-mart yield nothing that looked like it was meant for getting serious with the ant horde. We will continue to try to hold the onslaught back with Raid until the reinforcements arrive.

After all this activity this morning it seems like a siesta is in order as I spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying the good life.

  1. Those ants have really crossed the line now, anything but the cookies. Kathy agreed with the podwer idea. Maybe sprinkle some on Mel's tires and your utility connections. Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

    1. Would have been a lot better for them if they'd gone for the saltine crackers.

  2. Here's a fix that works in my house. Dissolve some borax laundry powder in hot water until it's a paste. Mix about a table spoon of the paste with about 1/4th cup of honey or jelly, anything sweet that the ants will like. Put this in something small like bottle caps and set it around your rig where the ants cluster. Also, spread some powder outside around the wheels and supports. They will take the mix back to the nest and kill off the queen and that elements all of them! Use the remaining powder to do your laundry...lol.

  3. "Fire One" (Raid)... "Fire Two" (Terro)...and if that doesn't work that flame-thrower might not be a bad idea. The nerve of them to eat the COOKIES!!!

    1. Donna I could have forgiven them right up until they got into the cookies, that was the last straw.

  4. OH NO NOT THE COOKIES! Now that is war. I hate those little ones. We call them piss ants. I have no idea where that name originated but it fits them. Hope you can hold them off until Friday.
