Well, maybe not a blur, but there was movement this morning. Laundry had finally backed up to the point it required immediate attention, so matters were taken in hand and off to the laundry I went. An hour and a half later I was back home with the insidious task disposed of. While doing laundry I had the opportunity to chat with a very nice lady from my old stomping grounds of Bloomington Indiana. I lived and worked in the Bloomington area for about 8 years. She and her husband were returning home after volunteering for a month at Capitol Reef National Park. This is an annual event for them and while on the road they live in a van conversion. Pretty tight quarters, but it works for them.
Today I'm going to continue preparations for getting underway. The holding tanks have been drained and the fresh water tank filled. The hope is that Chip can get the repairs completed tomorrow and I can be on the road Wednesday to start my 1300 mile trip to Hannibal.
One thing for sure, being on the road again will be one way to enjoy the good life.
Sometimes it is nice to sit in one place for a while, but rolling down the road to new adventures is worth it all. I'm sure you'll find some new fun out there. :c)
ReplyDeletePlenty of adventures just waiting to be found.
DeleteYou are right about enjoying the good life.
ReplyDeleteFunny you should say how many miles till you are home. We just checked and from here (Nehalem, OR) to home (where most the family lives) Canton, Ohio...2368 miles. Says if we drive straight we will only need 37.45 hrs. Fat chance that would ever happen!
I normally don't do over two hundred miles a day, but being held up for repairs I going to have do do more than that in order to be home to defend myself during the reunion.
DeleteI hope you find many GOOD adventures on your journey to Hannibal.
ReplyDeleteLot's of old ground to cover, potentially lots of new friends to meet.
DeleteHope all goes well tomorrow with Chip and you can be Home bound.
ReplyDeleteI also don't like driving long distances in one day. But to enjoy the good life and to defend yourself you gotta do what you gotta do.
AH the dreaded laundry.
We both have a deep appreciation of laundry day. Thanks for the visit.
Deleteahhh the laundry... heck just turn the Tshirts inside out, and wear underware backwards and get a whole nother day outta them! (that is what my hubby says, anyhow)
