Well we are in the shop and things have been torn apart and as we dug deeper more damage was uncovered. Pieces of tire were found inside the furnace and the actual base of the furnace was bent up into the fan housing and it has been declared toast . Chip placed a call to Progressive to let them know there is more to be done. Meanwhile they are moving forward with what can be done.
Mel under the canopy.
Some of the damage.
The crew at work.
Additional damage to the furnace.
Notice how the bottom is bent up into the squirrel cage fan.
The team has gone to lunch so it remains to be seen what we can accomplish today. Sitting back and watching Mel being returned to road ready is one way to enjoy the good life.
Wow, you'd think you were hit by an IED with all that damage! Hope your insurance company takes good care of Mel and pays for everything to be fixed as good as new.
ReplyDeleteSo far Progressive has stepped up. Fingers continue to be crossed.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Mel took one for the Gipper so you could keep Enjoying the Good Life. Be Safe and Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt's about time.
It's amazing how much damage 10 seconds of blown tire can do.
DeleteEgad! Good thing you haven't needed the furnace. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid what might have happened if the furnace would have kicked on. With all the damaged wiring it might have been an early 4th of July.
DeleteMan that tire really had it in for MEL. Good luck on getting on the road as soon as you need to.
ReplyDeleteThanks Barney, Chip and Corey are both working on it right now.
DeleteEgads...I don't understand any of your technical lingo but I can see by the pictures....it ain't good.
ReplyDeleteActually your title scared me. I didn't put your MH and Mel together. I thought a family member or friend was in the hospitalized. Glad it isn't that but not glad it is what it is either. Do you follow that?
Sorry to confuse. Mel (Melbourne) has been with me since we started this adventure and this is the first major problem he's had. Hopefully with a little (or lot) of surgery we'll be back on the road soon.
DeleteNot good, Mel looks like he needs intensive care. Hope Progressive steps up to the plate.
ReplyDeleteSounds like they're going to.
DeleteGet well soon Mel..
ReplyDeleteI thank you and Mel especially thanks you.
DeleteHope Mel makes a speedy recovery so you can be on your way to Hannibal. I plan on seeing you while you are there. You just have to let me know when and where you are going to be parked. Angie and I plan on taking you out to eat so we can catch up.
ReplyDeleteThe date keeps getting pushed back, More repairs tomorrow. I'll let you know.
DeletePoor Mel,
ReplyDeleteBut I am sure these guys will have him well soon. Will you be sleeping in the parking lot?
Good Luck to you both.
No need to parking lot camp, they got enough back together that I was able to proceed back to the park for the evening. We will be heading back to finish up today.
