Pretty blue skies just to the south.
Lots of smoke.
Not rain clouds, smoke clouds.
We almost lost the sun.
Fortunately the smoke stayed airborne and our air quality was fine.
Today the wind switched to the SW and the smoke is staying away. Someone else can enjoy it.
Today Loren and I were on a road trip to Fort Craig, the Rock House and the El Camino Real Heritage Center. Lots of pictures to share once I get them all sorted. Road trips are another way to enjoy the good life.
Wow - good thing all that gunk stayed airborne! Makes for some really dramatic photos!
ReplyDeleteI think we dodged the bullet, it didn't even have a smokey smell.
DeleteOh my goodness, that is terrible. I hope no one is in danger of the fire. Please stay safe.
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos.
A few summer cabins evacuated, but this is mostly in rugged, un-accessible territory. No danger at this point.
DeleteWhere are you?
ReplyDeleteI'm currently in Elephant Butte, NM, about 100 miles east of the Gila National forest where the smoke is coming from.. Just for info, my location is always posted in the left column. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteThose are some pictures John. Glad it stay airbourne. Last summers fires didn't always stay airbourne for us. This wind makes us on edge.
ReplyDeleteThe wind has shifted in the last couple of days and the smoke is now passing to the north of us.
