Switch sports

Basketball has ended for another year ( I don't count the NBA as basketball) and yesterday the St. Louis Cardinal began the defense of their World Series title with a win over the Florida Marlins. They start the season with a new manager and some new players, but they always have the Cardinal tradition to fall back on.

The park has been a very busy place the last few days as adjusters continue to arrive and the cleanup is well under way. With all the awnings down around town, someone said aluminum prices dropped last week from .80 cents to .08 cents a pound. That seems rather severe, but that is what I was told. Also awning prices have doubled in the last week prompting many of the folks to just postpone the process until they return next year. They have also had to close one gates here in the park to better control the non-park residents. I find it sad that when a disaster strikes some people think it's an opportunity to take advantage of folks, but that's the world we live in today.

No sign of the RV guy yet today and it is already 85 degrees inside. Guess I will go into hibernation mode to endure the heat while enjoying the good life.

  1. I'm with you on the NBA. As usual I move from college basketball to MLB. We don't agree on teams though this time...lol I'm an avid Reds fan and like the decisions the front office made in the off season. Should be a good season and even with all the changes, the Cards will be fighting for a playoff spot in the end.

  2. I am not a big fan of the heat as you, so I feel bad for you. I had to turn on the a/c for a little while this evening. I sure hope he shows up tomorrow.

    1. Jo, I don't think I'll hesitate a bit to run up the air when it's fixed.

  3. Woo-hoo that's hot! We keep our thermostat between 60-64 in the winter and that seems pretty comfortable to me. Sure hope you get your AC working again soon.

  4. It got well into the 90's inside today. On the positive side popcorn can be popped by setting it on the counter.
