Labor day weekend

Today is the start of the Labor Day weekend and the last invasion for the summer of the weekend warriors. It is also the beginning of the football season when the hopes of many college football programs are at their highest, soon to be dashed by reality. As always on major holiday weekends a low profile will be kept.

This morning I woke up and found the neck is somewhat improved from yesterday. There is still a bit of a twinge when I turn my head to the right, but it is much better than yesterday.

We are in weekend mode and summing up the well thought out master plan for today it's:

1) Avoid the weekend warriors.
2) Watch some football.
3) Enjoy the good life.

  2. "Last invasion..." - that is too funny! Although I'm not "out there" yet, I am sure that is exactly how I will feel when my quiet camping space is disrupted by the temporary rowdies. Only a couple more days and you and the other full-timers will "have it to yourselves" again... THAT will be the Good Life!

  4. One year after retiring I realize that three day holiday weekends are for the poor working stiffs. We live in a small seaside village on an island and the tourist invasion is in full swing. It's great for our local economy but a time to lay low. Today I'll smoke up some ribs and stay out of the way, oh yeah, enjoying the "good life"!
