I arrived in Hannibal yesterday afternoon and was greeted with 105 degree temperature and a heat index of 115. First stop was Wal-mart to add some groceries to the cabinets. While proceeding through Wal-mart I rounded a corner and and met a lady who declared she was stalking me. The problem was I recognized my stalker as Marie, the sister of one of my high school classmates. She was with her husband Maurice and we had a very pleasant conversation. Later in the day brother-in-law Mike and his wife Jane dropped by. We then moved Mel to the doctors parking lot and headed to Fiddlesticks for supper. While sitting there waiting to be served two other couples stopped by our table. Dan and his wife Sandy and George and wife Gerry made an appearance.
This morning it was surgery time and I convinced the doctor to sew things up with thread that will dissolve on their own., so I'm free to head out. I headed to Bowling Green because of an afternoon Cardinal game and I will be heading west in the morning. Bring on the cooler mountain air.
Kicking back and relaxing, watching Cardinal baseball and waiting for the Novocaine to wear off is one way to enjoy the good life.
I hope that they gave you super long lasting marcaine...you'll be almost healed by the time it wears off and you can enjoy "the good life" without interruption.
ReplyDeleteglad you surgery went well and you can now head for cooler temps in the mountains.
ReplyDeleteJohn, you have no idea what you are missing out here in the west. We've been driving hard for about a week just to get out of that hot country and into the mountains. We are now in Idaho and even in the high desert it's a cool 85* with a nice low 22% humidity. When we got to the mountains it was like life started again.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels and glad to hear the surgery went well.
