After watching all the bicycles pass by yesterday, today promises to be a much quieter day. Last night the only other folks in the park were two bike riders who have fallen behind the rest of the pack and decided to pitch their tent here for the night rather than forge on to yesterdays overnight stop. They were up and gone at first light and hope to catch the pack later today. This race is an annual event and apparently a pretty big deal around here. It is a seven day event that crosses Iowa from the Missouri River to the Mississippi River and to keep it under control it is limited to 8,500 full week participants and 1,500 one day only riders. I'll guarantee 10,000 riders really does look like mass chaos.
This morning brought a little overnight cooling and the result was, after all the moisture we've had, fog, nice thick, fog. A few pictures were taken this morning to share with you.
The RV park is completely empty except for me and Mel so I guess we wait and see if we have any new arrivals show up to visit with. Any way we will just sit back, chill and enjoy the good life.
looks like a pretty place. Good shots of the fog. Enjoy the quiet time while you can.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures! I sure do like the Canon you directed me to so I can take nice pictures also.
ReplyDeleteHi John, where was your header pic taken??
ReplyDeleteThe header picture was taken just outside of Moab, Utah last summer.
ReplyDeleteThere is a good chance that the two riders that stayed in your Park overnight were 'unofficial' riders on the route.
