This morning they have grounded all ducks and geese in the area. Frogs are looking for higher ground to prevent drowning. Rainfall has been intense in the last hour and the weather station recorded 1.15 inches of rain. That's a pretty good bath for an hour. The forecast for the rest of today is rain. Followed by more rain tonight. I think the monsoon season has arrived in Iowa. Last night we had a lot of heat lightning which is basically cloud to cloud lightning. No thunder involved, but a really good light show. I guess this is to be expected when the temperature is hitting close to 100 during the day.
Here's the view out of Mel's side window.
This is what it looks like out the front. The couple right in front of me travel on a motorcycle and have that little trailer the pops up into a this nice tent. It's a pretty nice set up, but room would be very limited in this kind of weather.
Today I guess I will be sharpening my reading skills while trying to enjoy the good life.
Your post made me smile. Enjoy the cozy rainy days...
ReplyDeleteKerri in AL :-)
Can't change things, might as well enjoy them, right.
ReplyDeleteBring some of that rain with you to come down here :-)
ReplyDeleteBuzz, moisture has a way of following me. I'll see what I can do.
ReplyDeleteThose folks in that tent better like each other....A lot :)
ReplyDeleteWe just had sprinkles today.
We are still in the heat down in Branson but will be heading north tomorrow toward Nebraska. I hope you absorb all the rain before we get up that way.
ReplyDeleteKenny, I'm sure there is enough rain to go around.
