I have so enjoyed doing nothing that I have extended my vacation here in Marengo Iowa through Sunday night. The folks around here have been more than gracious and don't seem to have any problems accepting my money. We had another thunderstorm roll through last night and some of the lightening got pretty intense. This morning I noticed that the one person in a tent here at the park had his bedding stretched out on the picnic table drying out. Seeing this brought back some old memories of my days of tent camping and all the fun of weathering the elements. Of course when I did it it was the days of canvas tents which had a whole set of their own problems. I will have to say camping in Mel is a much better way to go.
Today I will again do nothing and I will keep at it until I get done. You can even have time to enjoy the good life while doing nothing.
I've had a few experiences of rain storms in a tent at the beach. It was intense to say the least. Water was coming in from everywhere. My air mattress on the ground got soaked and the whole tent was leaking rain inside. I was much younger then and it didn't matter. But today, I love my motorhome and could never go back.
ReplyDeleteGypsy, I agree. The tenting adventure is for the younger folks. When th air mattress floats it's time to abandon ship.
ReplyDeleteI remember watching the guys chase a tent down the side of a hill in a really bad rain storm. All their bedding was in the tent full of water we offered them a place on the floor of our camper shell.
