Route 66

A little bit about Route 66. Know as the 'Mother Road' Route 66 stretches from downtown Chicago to Santa Monica California a distance of approximately 2448 miles. The route passes through 8 states and three time zones and by my guestimation I have, at various times, covered 90% of the road. The route was commissioned in 1926 and removed from official maps in 1985, but it refuses to die. The road has been the subject of songs, books, movies and a TV series and it is the ultimate nostalgia road trip. Here are a few more pictures from Tucumcari. 

After spending yesterday resting up today will be devoted to resting up from yesterdays resting up. Enjoying the good life is becoming an art form.
