Camera exercise

Today was a good day to exercise the new Mr. Canon II. The temperature was in the mid 70's with no wind when I started my walk. Not a cloud in the sky and off we went. The first thing noticed was how things around here have greened since my arrival.

This picture was taken by Mr. Canon I in the park on February 17th.

And today Mr. Canon II saw it like this.

Then to test the telephoto lens I took this picture from the park. The distance to the folks on the pier according to Google Earth is just over 200 yards. The far shore is 1.66 miles away.

Then it was off the the bird watching tower to take these pictures of these three birds on the end of the jetty. The distance here was one and a third football fields or 132 yards.

One more picture before returning to Mel was taken. This is the sign at the entrance to the park. The range here is 237 yards.

The experiment with the camera yielded results that were more than satisfactory even in my untrained hands. This afternoon I plan to do a bit more experimenting with Mr. Canon II  in an attempt to learn more of the features. It's a good way to enjoy the good life when you can capture memories.

  1. I do not see that there are Mr Cannon IIs available for sale. Perhaps you could give a Cannon Model name or number to help those of us that are Cannon challenged?

  2. Sure Ed, the model is a Canon PowerShot SX30IS. The IS is for image stabilizer. I ordered mine through Amazon.com.
