Moab, Utah

We have arrived in Moab, Utah and Mel is visiting his last new state of this season. In all there have been 8 new states covered this year. This area is the home to Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. It is rugged country and has been the setting of several western movies. On the way here we stopped briefly at Arches National Park visitors center.
We toured the exhibits and had a look around at the countryside.
We took a look at the road back into the park and decided to pass on the 30 mile round trip. I have seen the arches some 30+ years ago and Mel said he wasn't interested in climbing the hill on such a hot day.
Hers is a picture of the hill Mel passed on. Note the car in the lower center to get an idea of perspective

So we came on down to a small campground just south of Moab for the night. We have a wonderful view of the mountains and we are watching the afternoon showers roll in. Here are the views we have.
To the east.
To the southwest.
To the northwest.

The rest of the day will be spent taking in the views and visiting with my neighbors and just enjoying the good life.

  1. It is not nice to show nice pictures and not tell what the name of the campground is, since I need to plan on where to stay when I go back to Moab.
