Last night we all gathered at the rec hall for a hot dog carry-in and to hear the results of the parade competition. When we arrived there was a nice 1st place trophy on display and we saw that we had won the 1st prize in the Community category. Everyone was happy with the results.

Then Shirley, the head of the parade committee, took over the microphone to introduce the parade participants, you know Elvis, Minnie, Dolly, Willie, Loretta, Elvis's security team and the banner carriers. At the conclusion of the introductions Marvin, Shirley's husband and co-chair of the parade committee, came in the door with a rather large piece of hardware. It seems we'd been tricked and for 4th year in a row 4 Seasons had won the overall Grand Champion of the Zapata parade. Hats off to the float committee for a great job.

Today will be a recovery day from all of yesterdays activities. I do have a computer to work on this afternoon and of course there will be visiting in an attempt to enjoy the good life.
