Cabin fever

Cabin fever is starting to set in. It has rained steadily since 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon and the temperature hasn't reached 50 yet. This is the most rain I have ever seen in Zapata and we actually have puddles of standing water.

The view down the street, notice the actual standing water.

The view out the front of Mel's fogged up window.

Yesterday right after the rain started my neighbors Jim and Sue arrived from Missouri. They were accused of bringing this rotten weather with them which of course the denied. We got them back under their awning and the utilities hooked up in between showers and then we all took cover without having a chance to visit.

Today Sal and Shelly and Gary and Pat have headed off to Corpus Christi to bring Harley and Annis home.Gary will drive back Harley's motorhome and Harley will be able to stretch out his broken leg in the back. I think the doctors would have preferred for Harley to stay in Corpus for physical therapy, but they were having none of that. Hopefully his recovery will go faster with friends around.
