The last few nights the spots around me have all been occupied by people with northern license plates heading south. The annual migration of the snowbirds has begun. If you have never been involved in the migration you can't imagine how big it is. The Rio Grande Valley alone has some 200,000 to 250,000 'Winter Texans', add in Florida, Arizona and some of the other sun belt states and the total is well over 1,000,000 people who head south to avoid the snow. I have been keeping an eye on temperatures in Zapata and it will soon be tolerable enough to head that way. Monday's high is only predicted to be 92.
Today's activities will include meeting new neighbors as they arrive, it's all part of enjoying the good life.
