Lake Charles, LA
Well I slowed down today and spent the morning touring the Atchafalaya Swamp center. The Atchafalaya Swamp is the largest in North America and the elevated highway above the swamp is over 20 miles long. Quite impressive. The swamp is filled with all types of wildlife. From the expected alligators to the unexpected, bears and over 500 species of birds. It was also interesting to see some of the people at the center speaking Cajun to each other. I also made a stop today at Wal-Mart to replenish supplies. Mel is in need of a bath and I hope to get that done tomorrow. This will also serve as the last warning to my sister Kate to get out of town because I'm heading her way and will probably be in her driveway tomorrow.
