The days plan started innocently enough, a trip to the car wash to remove the accumulated top soil before the government declared PaT farm land and then a stop at Walmart. On arriving at the car wash the whole day went awry when I noticed the left front tire on PaT was in serious need of some air. After adding the air I decided to detour to Pep Boys to see what it would take to remedy the situation. On the way there I decided to go on and have the alignment checked, which was planned sort of killing two birds with one stone. They discovered nothing wrong with the tire, it was holding air fine, but they did discover part of the alignment hardware was missing. So $150.00 dollars later I was on my way. Next stop was Wally World and the happily accepted my donation and I finally arrived home at 3:30 pm., a 30 minute trip only took 6.5 hours.
Another step in the preparation process is out of the way though as we slowly approach departure day. Getting pre-trip checks finished is just another way of enjoying the good life.
Expensive carwash :)
ReplyDeleteThat's sort of the way things happen around here.
DeleteThat's kind of like going to the store to get bread. You end up filling a shopping cart full. It ends up being pretty expensive bread. At least everything is getting taken care of and ready to hit the road.
ReplyDeleteBoy you've got that right.
DeleteHow in the world can part of the alignment hardware be missing? That sounds strange to me.
ReplyDeleteBig games starting today. Good luck. Hopefully see you in the Big Dance.
Adjusting bolts gone and camber was locked in place.
DeleteLet the games begin.
Have to agree with Paul because if part of the alignment hardware is missing Pat should have been spread eagle on the ground. At least you caught it before hitting the road. Be Safe and Enjoy the Good Life!
ReplyDeleteIt's about time.
I tried to explain it above, but not sure exactly to explain it.
DeleteSO what color is the car after washing all that desert off it?
ReplyDeleteBack to its original gold, which blends nicely with the desert.
DeleteAlways nice to get vehicle issues solved, seems like there is always something that needs attention. Hope you enjoyed your day!
ReplyDeleteI'm slowly rebuilding this PT Cruiser, a piece at a time.
DeleteYup, we are ovrnighting at a Walmart right now. Ran in for a 2 jugs of drinking water and a box of trash bags. Came out $89 poorer! And who says overnighting at a Walmart is Free???? LOL

My experience is the Walmart runs the most expensive campgrounds in the country. $89 and no hookups.
