Making preparations

This morning everyone has been bustling about making preparations for the cold front which is to arrive this afternoon accompanied by 40 mile per hour winds. Tonights overnight low is pegged at 29 and tomorrow we'll sink lower to 24. Our high for Thursday is expected to be 36 and if all this occurs it will be the coldest weather I have seen in the four years I've been coming here. There is even a mention of snow in the forecast. The last time that happened around here was 5 years ago at Christmas. My preparations included filling the fresh water tank and stowing the hoses. Rather than take a chance of the hoses freezing up I decide I will just run off the internal fresh water tank which has a built in tank warmer. Others have been busy covering their plants and pulling in their patio furniture before it blows away.

Another reason for filling the fresh water tank was yesterday there was another visit to the park by the county EPA. There is some talk that he has threatened to shut down the park if the sewer system isn't working properly by Thursday. Park management has been building quite a reputation with the county officials and she's really cutting off her nose to spite her face.

Another funny incident was reported this morning. People who have gone to the store this morning say panic has hit the locals. The mere mention of snow in the forecast has cause the shelve to be emptied like it was the blizzard of '87. I'm sure the folks in the north would find amusement in watching this unfold.

The next few days will probably lend themselves to increased indoor activities while enjoying the good life.

  1. How many gallons of electricity did you use?? I am still waiting for the story on how they will handle the water metering. It should be somewhere between various levels of stupidity.

  2. I made the trip to the office yesterday to pay the electricity, but it was only Monday and apparently too much trouble to open the office. I now intend to wait until we see what happens Thursday before investing any more money in the Titanic.
