A few weeks ago when management advised us that the water usage was being measured through the electric meter no one envisioned the problems it would create in cold weather. Sure enough, when the temperature reached 31 degrees this morning the 'juice' stopped flowing. We have been without electricity since 8 am this morning with no idea when it might start flowing again. Fortunately I did not convert my generator to gallons and things on this end of the pipeline are still working. I did think that later today I might take a blowtorch to the meter to see if that could free up a few gallons of electricity for my use.
The temperature currently is 41 degrees and has about climbed as high as it can for today. Tonight they are talking 22 degrees as we continue to enjoy winter in the south of Texas.
It has been announced that tomorrow there will be a meeting between management, the homeowners and the local EPA folks. I intend to remain in a foxhole until it's over. I will find out what happens at the meeting from the survivors.
Today I plan to act like a bear as I hibernate in my den enjoying the good life.
AHH the beauty of wheels and self containment.
