Yesterday's trip to the office to pay the electric bill and to get some questions answered was less than half successful. They were more than happy to take the money for last months electrical usage. However, when I asked the office staff about the upcoming water bill I was greeted with rolling eyes and a referral to Miss Carol, the park manager. Apparently Miss Carol is the only one who knows the secret formula for converting kilowatts to gallons and she has not shared it with her staff. I guess I will just have to wait until next month to see how this all works out.
Today we are again in the overcast mode although the temperature is slowly creeping into the 70's. A little sun would really bump things up nicely. This morning was spent paging through the Schwan's catalog and he just arrived, so now the freezer is filled with a new assortment of goodies. With all this good food we will spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying the good life.
OK, let me see if I have this correct. Not only have they shot themselves in the foot with a precipitous increase in lot rental, but now they want to charge for parking rigs while you are using your Park Model? And then there's this whole utilities deal. Is it even LEGAL in Texas to charge for unmetered utilities? So how much are they charging for electricity, per KWH? Over or under market rate? Same question applies for the water and / or sewer?
ReplyDeleteSo, how soon are you looking to move?
You've got the parking right. additionally they are charging to park boat trailers for the people who have rented a boat slip. .19 per kilowatt is probably an overcharge which under Texas law isn't allowed. Un-metered utilities is also illegal in Texas. Association meeting tomorrow should be interesting.
