More San Ignacio

Here are more of the pictures taken on the home tour in San Ignacio on Sunday.

A sign welcoming all to the historic district.

This is the new Arturo L. Benavides Elementary School serving the town of San Ygnacio and opened in just the last two years.

This cart was part of a small museum located on the grounds of the school. The museum is a teaching aid, giving the children a sense of their heritage.

This wall in the patio of the Proceso Martinez home depicts the family that has been a part of the home. There are several murals that show different generations.

Another mural depicting the migration to the area.

This and the next few photos show the patio of the Martinez home. This patio would easily accommodate a basketball court. The domed structure above is an outdoor oven.

Tomorrows photos will include the interior of one of the most ornate homes I have ever seen when we visit the Don Manuel Marie Uribe home which is the current residence of Adrian Martinez.

The rest of today will be spent waiting for the warm up that is on the way. Right now it's 62 and the sun is still missing in action. It's going to have to make a reappearance to get this warming trend started. Even without the sun we will still find a way to enjoy the good life.
